Bertrand Charles, founding partner of Consors, is the new director for SYNFIE, the French union for economic intelligence:

"I am pleased to announce my appointment as a director of SYNFIE, the union representing French players in economic intelligence.

Today more than ever, to face growing economic and geopolitical chaos, businesses need reliable and efficient tools to secure their decisions and act with discernment. Yet, economic intelligence is a sector that still struggles to make itself known to economic decision-makers and business leaders.

This is explained by the very large number of professions and specialties it covers, by a doctrinal definition and academic research sometimes removed from reality on the ground, by a certain culture of secrecy linked to our activity, but also by dubious or even completely illegal practices conducted by some players, casting discredit on our activities.

As a result, I wish to contribute to the work of SYNFIE to bring greater clarity and visibility to our sector, embodying a pragmatic approach focused on our clients' needs.

I will be able to bring a perspective of 25 years of observation and action at the heart of this sector: observer first, as a journalist specialising in the subject within the editorial team of Intelligence Online (2000-2009). Agent above all, since 2011, at the head of the company Consors, which is gradually establishing itself as an essential player when it comes to shedding light behind the scenes and conducting in-depth investigations in France and abroad.
